Following an announcement of an important step being made in USEC's ongoing fight to get a loan agreement with the Department of Energy and create thousands of jobs to Piketon's USEC American Centrifuge Project, Congressman Zack Space today hailed the progress that was being made.
Congressman Space has been a tireless worker for the loan guarantee.
"We are getting closer and closer to seeing 4000 jobs coming to Southern Ohio," said Space. "My staff and I have been working on this for so long that I think we've been blacklisted at the Department of Energy. But we'll keep on fighting because we need those jobs. We have hundreds of people across the 18th Congressional District who will have good-paying jobs."
USEC announced today that the Department of Energy had issued a framework for negotiations to begin toward a conditional agreement, an enormous step in the effort to bring uranium enrichment technology to Southern Ohio.
