DioGuardi Encourages New York to Get Out the Vote

Press Release

Date: Nov. 1, 2010
Location: New York, NY

Joe DioGuardi, Conservative and Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, today encouraged New Yorkers to get out the vote during a visit to Staten Island and Long Island.

"Democracy relies on the participation of informed citizens," said DioGuardi. "The American experiment with democracy continues to set a shining example to the world. Too often though, our elected officials forget that their power and responsibilities come from the consent of the people. Sen. Gillibrand has joined Washington elites and jeopardized the American dream. This November, Election Day is the time to exercise your right to fight against a government that is spending money we don't have, a government that is putting our children into debt, a government that is bankrupting this nation and jeopardizing the American dream."

The author of "Unaccountable Congress: It Doesn't Add Up" and a Certified Public Accountant, DioGuardi is an advocate of fiscal responsibility and federal accountability. Throughout the campaign, DioGuardi has emphasized that the government is spending money we don't have and borrowing from countries who don't share our values.
