Carly Fiorina Highlights Barbara Boxer's Job-Killing Policies During Campaign Stop at Rossmoor

During a campaign stop at Rossmoor -- the seventh in a series of events planned as part of a three-day get-out-the-vote tour -- U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today discussed her plan to create jobs and stimulate the economy so that all Americans, especially those close to retirement, can enjoy economic security.

"During her nearly three decades in Washington, Barbara Boxer has consistently failed to fight for policies that support our nation's job creators and economic engines and today, we're realizing the consequences in the form of lower personal incomes, sky-high foreclosure rates and 2.2 million Californians out of work," Fiorina said. "And while Barbara Boxer may claim she stands with our state's seniors, much like the rest of her 28-year career in Washington, her record simply doesn't support her rhetoric. With our state and our nation facing extraordinary times, it's no surprise the people of California are seeking new representation in the U.S. Senate."

Fiorina has emphasized the importance of developing consensus in order to address our entitlement programs in a way that does not jeopardize benefits for those in or near retirement. Barbara Boxer, on the other hand, has voted on multiple occasions during her tenure in the U.S. Senate to cut funding to Medicare by billions of dollars, including a $16 billion cut to Medicare Advantage. Boxer has also voted at least three times to raise taxes on Social Security benefits and at least six times against providing seniors relief from such hikes.

"The very economic future and security of our nation is at stake on Tuesday, and voters face a stark choice between sending back to Washington a failed career politician whose tenure in the U.S. Senate has been marked by bitter partisanship and ineffectiveness, and electing a proven leader who has spent her career solving problems and getting things done," continued Fiorina. "In order to get our economy back on track, we must change the leaders we send to Washington, and that's the reason I'm asking voters for their support at the polls on Tuesday."

Earlier today, Fiorina greeted diners at Keedy's Grill in Palm Desert and phone banked with campaign volunteers in Fresno, asking Californians for their support on Election Day.
