Kapanke Wins First Debate - Provides Real Solutions for Western Wisconsin

Dan Kapanke, Republican candidate for Congress in Wisconsin's Third Congressional District completed his first debate at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with Ron Kind and Mike Krsiean and was the clear winner in the debate. The debate allowed for Ron Kind, Mike Krsiean, and Dan Kapanke to spar over a wide variety of topics including jobs, the economy, and healthcare.

"After 13 years in Congress, it is evident that Ron Kind does not have any real solutions to the problems this country faces," said Dan Kapanke. "Anyone who saw the debate clearly understood that Ron Kind is just parroting the big spending ways of Nancy Pelosi and the liberal Congress. He has lost touch with what is really happening here on the ground in Wisconsin. Folks here need someone who will go and fight for them and Ron Kind is no longer that person."

During the debate, Kind was asked about his solutions to the economy and jobs and only provided references to obscure bills with government-only solutions. Kapanke discussed creating stability in the marketplace and eliminating government regulation that restricts businesses from growing, innovating, and employing people. The debate also focused on education where Kapanke expressed his concern about the lack of jobs available to students at graduation and returned the discussion back to the economy. Kind suggested an increase in government spending in the university system as a way to stimulate jobs.

This was the first of three debates with Ron Kind, Mike Krsiean, and Dan Kapanke. The three will meet again Wednesday night at the UW- Eau Claire and on October 26th at UW-La Crosse.
