Eric's top priority as Attorney General will be restoring trust in State government by waging a 24/7 campaign against corruption, waste, fraud and abuse and ensuring that elected officials are held accountable for the use of every tax dollar. Fixing Albany's culture of dysfunction and lax ethical standards simply can't wait. That is why Eric has been fighting every day to combat the corrosiveness of corruption and cynicism so that government can function as a tool to improve people's lives and strengthen our communities.
This year, Eric sponsored and passed the first meaningful ethics overhaul in decades. He led the effort to remove a Senator who was convicted of a domestic violence crime. And Eric is leading the fight to significantly expand the ability of local law enforcement officials to prosecute public corruption in Albany and across the state.
In addition to measures to ensure the integrity of state officials, Eric will ensure that there are public integrity officers working in every regional Attorney General's office across New York to prosecute corruption in state institutions, and serve as watchdogs for local government.
Putting taxpayers first, Eric will fight to protect our pension funds from fraud and put an end to "pay-to-play" practices in all state and local government contracting.
