Democrat Toby Ann Stavisky understands how important it is that we look out for our most vulnerable citizens, especially during these difficult economic times. When Queens seniors have struggled to get by, Senator Stavisky has been there fighting for them every step of the way.
When local senior citizens were underserved, Senator Stavisky and her husband Leonard founded the North Flushing Senior Center which provides our community's older adults with meals and activities. She also provided millions of dollars in property tax relief to seniors and believes in fully funding Access-A-Ride so that seniors and disabled citizens can travel at an affordable cost.
Having to choose between buying groceries and refilling prescriptions is not a decision any senior citizen should have to face. That's why as our State Senator, Toby Ann Stavisky has stood up to Republican-backed cuts to Queens nursing homes, secured millions of dollars in grant money to improve and expand local hospitals and voted to expand the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC) program. Senator Stavisky has also worked to increase criminal penalties for offenders who commit crimes against seniors.
Senator Stavisky will continue to look out for our seniors in Albany to so that they receive the care and respect they deserve.
