Getting Results for Seniors

Joe Addabbo has always believed we owe a special obligation to our seniors--generations that defended us in war and sacrificed to build a better life for all of us. That's why Joe Addabbo has fought so hard to get results for seniors.

In the Senate, Joe helped create the new Gold Alert program, that will let the public and law enforcement know when an elderly Alzheimer's patient or other vulnerable adult have gone missing, built on the success of the Amber Alert system. And he worked to save the Woodhaven Senior Center and the Woodhaven Volunteer Ambulance Corp. In fact, Joe has worked to bring resources to all senior centers in his district.

Joe also voted to simplify the renewal process for the Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption Program by instituting a mechanism to remind those enrolled of their steps for renewal. And Joe authored legislation to increase absentee ballot voting options for individuals living in nursing homes.
