Issue Position

A product of the New York City public education system, Assemblyman Gianaris knows that our schools can work. In the Legislature, he's been a leading voice to make sure our teachers have the resources they need so all kids can succeed.

Gianaris has delivered vital funds to reduce class size, expand learning opportunities in outdoor environments and to fund class trips to cultural institutions. He also is a strong supporter of the Campaign for Fiscal Equity-the lawsuit that mandates that New York City schools get the funding they need to provide every student with a sound education.
