Congressman Courtney versus Janet Peckinpaugh on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Janet Peckinpaugh, the Republican candidate for Congress in the Second District, contrasted her views on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, more commonly known as the Stimulus, with the voting record of incumbent Congressman Joe Courtney. "Like most people in eastern Connecticut, I think that spending in Washington has gotten out of control," said Peckinpaugh. "I would have voted against the Stimulus and its $787 billion in spending."

Peckinpaugh concluded: "Congressman Courtney supported his party and their reckless spending. When I am in Congress, I will stand up to the party bosses to get federal spending under control."
