Hastings Bridge

Senator Sieben pushed to secure funding for the replacement of the Hastings Bridge through the override of the Governor's veto of the 2008 transportation bill. Replacement of the bridge was originally scheduled for 2018 at the earliest, and due in part to her work, is now scheduled to begin this fall. In the 2010 Legislative Session, Senator Sieben worked with Hastings mayor Paul Hicks, to successfully advocate for funding for bus service between Hastings and the Twin Cities to help mitigate any increased congestion that may occur due to the bridge reconstruction.

High Speed Rail

Senator Sieben has sponsored and passed legislation to allocate funding for high speed rail service from the Twin Cities to Chicago. Senator Sieben is also the Minnesota Commissioner of the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Commission, a regional organization advocating for passenger rail improvements.

Red Rock Corridor

Senator Sieben advocates for the expansion of commuter rail options. Senator Sieben has successfully secured funding and support for the Red Rock Corridor, a commuter rail line originating in Hastings traveling to St. Paul and Minneapolis.
