Urges President Obama to eliminate 'other uncertainties'
Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today issued the following statement following a report that the Obama administration is lifting its ban on deep-water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico:
"I am pleased the President has eliminated one bit of uncertainty in our economy: the moratorium on offshore deep-water drilling. It is my hope the administration does not delay the issuance of new permits so that drilling can resume, Americans can go back to work and a domestic energy source can be used. I urge President Obama to eliminate the other uncertainties hampering our economic recovery, namely a full extension of estate and income tax relief set to expire in 80 days and the duel threats of card check and the cap and trade energy tax which are preventing the private sector from creating the jobs American workers need."
