Attorney General Biden's work has made Delaware a national leader in protecting children from predators. He has plans to do even more.

Nothing matters more to Attorney General Biden, a father of two, than protecting Delaware's children. Shortly after taking office, he established the Child Predator Task Force and fought to impose tough new minimum mandatory prison sentences on child pornographers. Delaware is becoming a national leader in child safety under Attorney General Biden's leadership. The federal government this year announced that Delaware is only the second state to meet new federal guidelines for protecting children, including significant new reporting and tracking requirements for sex offenders.

The Child Predator Task Force that Biden established brings state agencies, all Delaware police departments, and prosecutors together to focus on one goal -- keeping kids safe from the worst of society. There are more than 50,000 predators online at any given time, and 1 out of 7 children will be sexually solicited online -- predators can virtually come into families' homes through the computer.

Biden has obtained $1.35 million in federal funding for the Task Force, which partners with the federal Internet Crimes Against Children program to locate child pornographers in Delaware and put them in jail. Biden and other task force members have conducted internet safety presentations for thousands of children throughout Delaware so they know how to protect themselves online.

Attorney General Biden wants to lead Delaware to the next level of protecting children. He is working with legislators to pass financial penalties for child pornographers, allowing victims to seek justice by suing the producers and possessors of child pornography. He also plans to do more to get people to report suspicions of abuse and to increase efforts to catch predators online.
