Concord like Washington has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Our state budget has grown 20% in four years and this spending is unsustainable. The result of this situation has been the passage of 67 new taxes and fees since 2006, in the most recent budget writing session the State instituted the "LLC Tax" which amounted to a 5% tax on small business owners that was proposed without public hearing in the middle of the night without any specifics as to how the tax was to be implemented. Additionally, many other new taxes and fees were implemented on New Hampshire families and small businesses during a time when families and businesses were looking to reduce their own spending and costs. Unchecked spending and increased taxation will only serve to hamper economic recovery and growth.
