Issue Position

After a lifetime of hard work, seniors deserve their federal benefits. I have worked tirelessly to strengthen Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

I voted for legislation to make Medicare Part B premiums more affordable. I also co-sponsored a bill to repeal the outpatient therapy cap.

I co-authored legislation to increase criminal penalties against perpetrators of Medicare fraud. This bill also ensures greater protection against the dissemination of Medicare identification numbers.

With regards to Social Security, I am a co-sponsor of the Notch Fairness Act. This bill would ensure that social security recipients born between 1917 and 1921 are not given fewer benefits than other retirees.

I also support a bill to assist those Social Security beneficiaries that are being unjustly penalized for having additional pension benefits.
