Brett Guthrie supports an "all of the above" energy policy for our country, which should include the use of one of Kentucky's most abundant resources - coal. Brett believes the United States should utilize all of its domestic resources to reduce dependence on foreign oil and to keep energy prices low for consumers.
Brett strongly opposes "cap and trade" legislation that would result in higher utility rates for all Kentucky families and businesses at a time when they cannot afford what amounts to an energy tax increase. Brett believes "cap and trade" is bad for small businesses and that it will lead to massive job loss.
Brett believes that keeping energy prices low will help small businesses and farms have a better chance of succeeding and creating more jobs, so he'll continue to fight for common sense energy policies.
