Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Bill Brady today released the following statement on Quinn's deal with AFSCME;
"Like his former boss Rod Blagojevich, Pat Quinn has sold out the people of Illinois. After weeks of public denials to the contrary, Pat Quinn now admitted he long ago signed this eleventh hour, backroom deal with the same union leaders expected to pour millions of dollars into his campaign."
"I have repeatedly joined good government groups and editorial boards statewide in urging Pat Quinn not to sign this pay-to-play deal. It limits Illinois' options for solving our fiscal crisis, jeopardizes the long-term benefits of state rank and file employees, and costs taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars in the midst of the worst recession in our history."
"By refusing to immediately disclose any new contributions from the same union leaders with whom he's negotiated this state contract, Pat Quinn continues to place his own political crisis before our fiscal crisis."
