Griffin: Congress should remain in session until uncertainty over tax relief addressed
Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today issued the following statement calling on Congress to remain in session until full tax relief for Americans is passed, postponing its pre-election adjournment that could come as soon as Wednesday:
"We want common sense leaders in Congress, not people who will punt the hard stuff past election day. Congress must end the uncertainty over tax relief so the private sector can create the jobs needed for workers to lead us out of our economic mess. Congress should remain in Washington until it can pass a full extension of the tax relief scheduled to expire at year's end -- an extension supported by a bipartisan majority of the House. Every day Congress waits puts our recovery further out of reach. We must act now."
