Statement by Senator Mark Pryor On Today's Hearing on the 9/11 Commission Report

The 9/11 Commission labored long and hard over its mission to determine how the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred, whether they could have been prevented and what reforms are necessary to prevent similar strikes in the future. The Commission has performed considerable work in advancing recommendations to protect our nation; it is now up to Congress and the Administration to step up to the plate.

Today's hearing reflects our commitment on the Government Affairs Committee to evaluate and implement meaningful reform, an undoubtedly complex and critical task with no place for partisanship. It is my hope that we can continue to make deliberate and thoughtful progress on the Commission's findings and recommendations, and ensure our intelligence and homeland security operations never fail American families again.
