U.S. Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) today made the following statement to mark Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of atonement.

"Tonight at sunset, people of the Jewish faith will observe one of their holiest days of the year. Yom Kippur is a day of soul-searching and reflection. As members of the Jewish community pause to reflect, we are all reminded of the importance of working past our differences and striving to be better people. Meike and I send our best wishes to all observing this important day."
