Issues: Taxes Government Budget and Spending
Less goverment spending, less taxes period. As a State Representative, I fought to keep government spending under control and to keep your taxes low. I led the fight to take the state budget from a $1 billion deficit to a $2 billion surplus by freezing spending and reducing the number of government employees. I fought for property tax reform and helped bring the largest decrease in property taxes to homeowners in indiana's history.
In Congress, I will fight to defund the recently passed health care bill and stop the resulting tax increases. And, I will lead the fight against the Obama Administration's proposed Value Added Tax (VAT).
