With Florida still dealing with the sting of a double-digit unemployment rate, one of our US Senators is working up legislation to bring more money to the state.
Senator George LeMieux is pushing an initiative to get money in the hands of Florida's two-million small businesses.
"It is a program that would lend money to community banks. Your local bank down the street, to help small business in Florida get a loan," says LeMieux.
He says this small business plan will work faster than the bank bailout.
"And I hear time and time again, that they can't get credit from their local bank down the street because credit is just too tight."
And without credit, LeMieux says businesses can't get the money they need for new equipment and workers.
