Coffman Supports Two-Point Plan For Job Creation
Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Aurora) released the following statement today in support of the economic plan proposed by House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH):
"It is clear to everyone but the Democrats in Washington that their big government tax and spend economic policies have failed. It is time for Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and President Obama to admit what every American already knows and embrace a new bipartisan approach to job creation."
"The Republican plan unveiled today will do what the Democrats' policies have failed to do -- create jobs. My colleagues and I are calling upon all Members of Congress to embrace this new plan to put Americans back to work."
"The Republican plan has two planks. First, Congress should pass a bipartisan bill that will immediately reduce federal spending back to 2008 levels. Second, the plan calls for a two-year freeze on all tax rates. Raising taxes in the middle of a recession is a sure fire way to kill more jobs. Preventing tax increases will provide small businesses and job creators the certainty they do not have under this administration's current economic policies. This nation cannot afford, and Americans do not want, more taxes, more reckless spending, and more uncertainty."
