As you may know, this year the legislature formulated and passed the first balanced budget in several years--without using reserve funds or raising taxes. I supported these efforts. To balance the budget, cuts were made; however, this does not diminish the importance or value of programs that were impacted and our need to re-examine these next year.I supported the 2010 Legislature as a balanced budget was passed without increasing taxes or using reserves. This is the first time in seven (7) years this was accomplished. I will continue to advocate for a balanced budget.
