Illegal immigration is a problem for Nevada
Workforce demographics show "Nevada tops the nation in the percentage of illegal immigrants in the workforce" (Pew Hispanic Center). Unfortunately, many are not paying their fair share.
The children of Nevada's 240,000 illegal immigrants working in Nevada cost approximately $10,000 per child to "educate, medicate and sometimes incarcerate." It's also been estimated by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), that illegal immigration costs Nevada almost $650 million annually, that is 70% of the budget hole the Special Session of the Legislature tried to fill.
Problems in Nevada with illegal immigration are affecting our tax revenues and social entitlements and are bringing us to the brink economically. We have to tackle these problems in the next legislative session.
Your vote will help me go to Carson to introduce groundbreaking legislation to mitigate the costs illegal immigration has placed on Nevada's social service networks."
