Having put her three children through school in District 30, Maria understands first-hand the educational system and will work hard to improve it.
In line with her motto- Rep. Sachs has brought real change to the educational system for her constituents by putting words into action. She successfully sponsored HB 207, which expands the number of languages available in public schools from 4 to 15. This bill makes it possible for students to compete in the expanding global economy. During the 2008 presidential campaigns, she organized a Mock Presidential Debate at Florida Atlantic University, which became the highlight of the university's Political Awareness Week and led to the Republican Party choosing Florida Atlantic as the location for their Presidential Candidates Debate.
But the most important part of our children's education is what goes on in the classroom. As State Rep., Maria visited every elementary school in the district to foster a stronger dialogue with teachers and administrators. As State Senator, Maria will continue to fight to ensure that our public schools get the funds needed to teach our kids.
