President Roosevelt described four freedoms that every American was entitled to. One of those freedoms was freedom from fear, and Rep. Sachs wants to create a safe environment in District 30 for both families and seniors.

Former State Prosecutor

As a former state prosecutor, Maria has and will continue to work with law enforcement to lower our crime rates and keep our comunities safe. Her priority will be to provide the necessary resources to first responders so as to keep our families feeling secure in their homes and children in their schools.

Our police and firefighteres make up the backbone of our community, and Maria will support them in Tallahassee so they can support our community in District 30.

List of Achievements

* Organized two Anti-Gang Symposiums, which brought statewide attention to the rising gang problem in Palm Beach County. The first symposium, highlighted by US Attorney Alex Acosta, focused on law enforcement. The second focused on rehabilitation and was chaired by Secretary Walter McNeil from the Department of Juvenile Justice.

* Spearheading a project with the National Organization of Women and the League of Women Voters on improving conditions for women in the Palm Beach County Jail.

* Co-Sponsored HB 43, an anti-gang law containing provisions that target gang kingpins by making it a first-degree felony punishable by life imprisonment for directing criminal gang-related activity. The Governor signed this bill into law.

* Participated in a press conference with Bill McCollum, Florida Attorney General, on tougher penalties for gang members.
