This past session, the Republican-controlled legislature passed an anti-choice bill, HB1143, at the 11th hour. The bill, and the way that the debate was conducted, were an insult to the women in this state.
I take the protection of a woman's right to choose very seriously. It's not my job and it's not the job of any of the legislators in Tallahassee to tell women what to do with their bodies.
I was honored to be named Planned Parenthood's Legislator of the year a few months ago, and I will continue to stand firm on this issue. Women have the right to make decisions about their bodies, and I will never vote to restrict that right.
