As a Panhandle small businessman since the 1970s, I understand the challenges unique to small business owners, and I believe in removing obstacles to health care coverage opportunities for small businesses by opening the marketplace options available to them for employee coverage plans.
In addition to continuing to work to address property insurance and property tax rate for small businesses, I am committed to working to advance legislation that creates market-based incentives and programs that enable small businesses to provide affordable health care coverage to their employees.
I strongly believe that the best ideas and advancements in the marketplace occur without the burden of heavy government interference and mandates. I believe that affording small businesses flexibility in insurance plans will lead to more opportunities for small business in the marketplace.
I also support tax credits and incentives directed toward freeing up more revenues for small businesses to participate in the health insurance marketplace.
