Many Americans are deeply worried about the state of our job market and our nation's border security. During my time in office, I have broken with many in Washington and made it a priority to enforce the immigration laws and secure our borders.
Yesterday, I voted for legislation that provides $600 million in border security funding that will go toward adding 1,500 new border agents and equipment to secure the U.S.-Mexican border. This money will also support the prosecutors and investigators who crack down on companies who hire illegal immigrants. I believe this legislation takes important steps to protect our national security and make sure that American jobs go to American workers.
There is still more work to be done, but as your Congressman I will continue to fight against the status quo when it comes to enforcing our immigration policies.
