Congressman Salazar Offers Statement On Stolen Valor Act

Today, U.S. Congressman John T. Salazar offered the following comments in response to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Decision regarding Stolen Valor:

"I am very disappointed to learn of the 9th Circuit decision on Stolen Valor, however I am confident that upon appeal to the Supreme Court their misguided decision will be overturned. We live in a society that wants to honor our nation's veterans. As the son of a veteran, the father of a veteran, and a veteran myself, I know firsthand the sacrifice our men and women in uniform make to serve their countries.

"As long as I am in Congress, I will not give up the effort to protect their honor. These fake hero's use lies to claim underserved federal veterans benefits and defraud their communities into believing they are someone they are most certainly not for personal gain. I will continue to fight for the veterans of our country."
