One of the most important issues facing Middle Georgia is jobs and job creation. Billy knows there are lots of our neighbors and their families that are hurting right now. That's why one of his biggest focuses is on bringing jobs here.
Maddox has worked closely with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Department of Economic Development and other local and regional leaders to complete the east-west corridor.
"We greatly need this connection from I-75 south to I-85 to better serve our new Kia plant and give them access to coastal ports," Maddox said. "These improvements will create jobs in manufacturing that otherwise would not come to our area. If we can get this done, we will benefit from the revenue it will bring."
Maddox has worked to help establish new businesses like the Diamond Energy biofuel facility in Thomaston. The test plant facility is now in operation, and plans call for a future expansion.
"These are cutting-edge, high-wage jobs that greatly bolster our community," Maddox said. "We can work together to bring more businesses success stories like these to life right here in Middle Georgia."
