On Wednesday, August 11 Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-7) held a town hall meeting with more than 50 residents at the Summit City Hall Building in Summit. Lance is holding a series of summertime town hall meetings throughout the Seventh Congressional District.
During the nearly two hour meeting with area residents, Congressman Lance discussed important issues facing Congress and the American people. Lance took questions and shared his views on a wide range of issues including the economy, health care, federal spending, rising federal debt and local flood control needs.
"We had a wonderful and lively discussion of the important issues facing the Nation," Lance said. "Local residents were clearly concerned about the economy, federal spending, health care and growing levels of debt. I was able to present my views on these topics. It was a great, free exchange of ideas, and I was honored to have the opportunity to be able to answer their questions."
Members of Lance's staff were also available to assist residents who are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies, such as the IRS, Social Security Administration, Veterans' Affairs, the State Department or any other federal agency.
Today's town hall comes on the heels of events throughout the congressional district including, Montgomery and Manville.
Later this evening Lance will be in Roselle Park for a town hall meeting and on August 12 in Woodbridge.
