Almost all teachers are personally committed to every student who walks into their classroom. Like every profession, a handful of educators are misplaced. With this in mind, and knowing that every child deserves a committed teacher every year, I believe we must re-evaluate the effectiveness of teacher tenure. Protecting a handful of teachers who are misplaced is not in the best interest of our children.
I believe and will
- Support committed teachers, unequivocally.
- Support reevaluating the effectiveness of teacher tenure for those
who are misplaced in education.
- Arbitrary teacher evaluation. Teacher performance measures
should be evidenced-based and require principals provide
meaningful instructional guidance and leadership vs. superficial
evaluations with little principle support.
