As the population of our state grows, our traffic congestion continues to intensify. We need an integrated approach to moving people and goods that considers the needs of neighborhoods, our economy, and the impact on the environment. As your State Senator, I am working for cost-effective investments in our transportation infrastructure that will help improve our mobility and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I support expanding our light rail system, increased METRO bus service, and more investments in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. During my first term in office I have been a leader in the effort to ensure that the 520 Bridge replacement project has improved transit capacity, minimizes impacts on local neighborhoods and the arboretum, is ready for light rail, and is completed both on time and within budget.
