Right now, Washington State has a well-deserved reputation as being "unfriendly to business". Taxes are high, regulatory red tape abounds, and employers are abandoning our state to find better places to base their businesses. We must change if we want to maintain the state services we need as well as provide for good jobs for our families and our childrens' futures.
Small business is the life blood of our state, creating 75 percent of net new jobs. We need to remember that even many of our now world class businesses started as small businesses. With our environmental qualities, our natural resources and our educated workforce, I believe our state can out-compete any other state with the right economic policies. I will work to make our state more "business friendly" so we can keep and expand jobs for us and our children.
