Alabama ranks fourth in the nation in public corruption and is one of only three states that does not have an ethics commission with subpoena power. Government corruption hurts economic development and violates the trust citizens place in their elected officials. Barry supports laws that will strengthen our ethics laws and hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.
Serving in elected office is a privilege given by the voters -- a privilege which should not be abused. Barry supports granting subpoena power to the Alabama Ethics Commission and limiting the amount of money lobbyists can spend on elected officials.
