U.S. Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) today made the following comments during a high-tech industry roundtable discussion following an informational meeting between himself and the management of Haynes Corporation Manufacturing Facility in Naples. LeMieux was joined by high-tech industry leaders, as well as Collier County Economic Development Council members to discuss tech-sector growth in Florida.
"To compete in the global market, we need to be on the forefront in creating new, high-tech products," said LeMieux, a member of the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. "Through support for research and development programs, we can continue to be on the cutting edge of technology. Promoting this industry and encouraging companies to locate in Florida will also bring jobs and economic growth to our state. Haynes Corporation is a fine example of a company that has taken their specialized technology products to consumers worldwide, while also providing growth for the local economy."
Haynes Corporation, a locally-owned small business, is a world leader in diesel fuel injection systems. LeMieux strongly believes it is in Florida's best interests to diversify its economy to include innovative pioneers in new technology, like the Haynes Corporation.
