Statement of Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) on the Senate Confirmation of Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court:
"With today's confirmation of Elena Kagan by the Senate, not only will the U.S. Supreme Court will be at full strength when it reconvenes on the first Monday in October -- it will have three women sitting as justices for the first time. Solicitor General Kagan's stellar record of public service has now begun a new chapter, of which I'm sure all Americans will be proud. I'm delighted that a New Yorker and a graduate of Hunter College High School will soon be joining the Supreme Court."
