With the highest unemployment rate in the nation and a decade long recession, Michigan citizens are hurting like none other in our nation.
When someone doesn't have a job and cannot feed their family, nothing else matters.
The key to creating jobs in Michigan is to release the productive energies of our people. This can only be done by cutting state government spending, cutting taxes, and allowing citizens to keep more of their hard-earned money. The hidden tax of unnecessary regulations must be eliminated.
I have spoken to many employers eager to create jobs but unable to do so because of the burdens placed upon them by state government.
Only when we take the shackles off our own people will Michigan's economy be able to grow again.
As your State Senator, this will be my number one focus.
