Provide Affordable Healthcare Options For Working Poor And Others

Free market health care means you get to make the choices for your care. It means you get to keep your health care as you move from job to job. It means you are allowed the same tax treatment for your health care as employees that get their health care through their work. In short, it means you are in charge, not Washington and not Lansing

Reform Medicaid & Make Health Opportunity Accounts Available

Medicaid is a government run health care program. It provides a glimpse of what happens when we let Lansing and Washington make our health care decisions. Doctors are grossly underpaid, so much so that many will not accept Medicaid patients or limit the amount of patients they see. Hospitals are underpaid. It is so bad, that Washington has had to come up with extra money for the hospitals through what are called disproportionate share (DSH) payments. But then Washington puts in all kinds of hoops for the hospitals to jump through, so that Washington can limit the amount of money they pay out in these DSH payments. What is an alternative? Give Medicaid patients the same free market health care that I proposed earlier. The way it is now, Medicaid patients have a great health care plan, they just don't have many medical providers that will treat them because Washington and Lansing have dropped payments so low. Can my idea work? Yes, we already have an example of low cost health care coverage in our county health plans.
