No Taxpayer-Funded Abortions

Yesterday, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act was introduced in the House. I am pleased to inform you that I am an original co-sponsor of the bill.

The bill establishes a permanent government-wide prohibition on taxpayer subsidies for abortion and abortion coverage. In addition, it codifies an existing policy that provides conscience protections for health care employees and facilities from being forced to perform or assist in an abortion.

For many years the federal government has prohibited federal funding of abortion policy in annual spending legislation, and it is now time to apply that to all federal programs. I believe in protecting life at all stages and this bill will help to establish firm pro-life government policies.
