Paul: United States "is not threatened from Iran having one nuclear weapon."
Conway says, "Rand's risky ideas would place the United States, Israel, and our shared interests at the center of a bull's-eye."
With Iran's President saying last week that he believes the United States will attack "at least two countries" in the Middle East and Iran reportedly ordering massive military exercises this week - including fighter jet and drone bombing drills, Rand Paul claims "our national security is not threatened from Iran having one nuclear weapon."
Iran, a leading state sponsor of terrorism and a destabilizing force in the region, has vowed to "wipe Israel off the map."
Conway said, "The United States must take strong measures to persuade Iran to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons. Rand's risky ideaswould place the United States, Israel, and our shared interests at the center of a bull's-eye. Israel and the United States have an unbreakable bond and we can never turn our back on the threats we face together."
Conway announced his support for the following steps to keep Iran from developing a nuclear weapon:
1) Use all diplomatic, political, and economic measures available to reduce the threat that Iran poses
2) Increase sanctions on the current Iranian regime and the country's financial system.
3) Boost penalties against energy companies that invest in Iran.
