U.S. Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) today made the following statement regarding the passing of Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. of Tampa, Florida.
Sen. LeMieux said:
"I am greatly saddened by the sudden and untimely loss of an incredible Floridian and my friend, Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. A lifelong public servant, Admiral Collins served his country well as a decorated Navy Admiral, a successful businessman, and most recently, the Executive Director of the Florida Veterans Administration, advocating on behalf of the nearly 1.8 million veterans who call Florida home. His work for Florida's veterans, their families and survivors in improving their health and well-being will be greatly missed. My wife, Meike and I send our thoughts and prayers to the entire Collins' family during this troubling time."
