Serving faithfully for 16 years as Brunswick's Municipal Court Judge, William Ligon has earned a public record you can trust. Judge Ligon maintained the cause of justice in his courtroom and enforced the rule of law. Presiding over thousands of cases each year, Judge Ligon recognized patterns of crime that were preventable. His review of court records revealed that a large percentage of his case load involved illegal immigrants. Judge Ligon took action to hold law enforcement and immigration agencies accountable. Just as one example, from 2002 to the end of 2008, DUI cases alone decreased by half as a result of Judge Ligon's actions. If elected to the Senate, William Ligon will sponsor measures to keep law enforcement and the justice system accountable in their duty to protect our families, communities, and private property.
