John Comments on Shrimp Dumping Ruling

Washington, D.C. - Louisiana Congressman Chris John offered the following comment on today's announcement by the U.S. Department of Commerce that imports of shrimp from China and Vietnam have been dumped on the U.S. market.

"Today's decision is a positive step forward for the Louisiana shrimp industry. While the Commerce Department's ruling keeps the antidumping investigation alive, we must remain vigilant to safeguard our markets, our jobs and our livelihoods from unfair trade and illegal dumping into our markets."

"A strong America begins at home with free trade that's fair, and through policies that allow every Louisianian the opportunity to succeed, hold down a good job and provide for their families. I will continue to fight for these opportunities - for our shrimpers, fishermen, crawfishermen, sugarcane growers, rice farmers and the hardworking men and women across our state."
