Congressional candidate Mark Critz today announced that he received the endorsement of Veterans and Military Families for Progress (www.vmfp.org). Founded in 2005, VMFP is dedicated to ensuring that the rights and needs of veterans, active-duty service members (including national guard and reservists), and their families are understood by the American public, endorsed by our elected officials, and protected by legislation, regulation, and public policy initiatives. VMFP also endorsed Critz during the special election in May.
"I'm honored to have the backing of Veterans and Military Families for Progress. Their commitment to taking care of our service men, women, and their families is unparalleled, and in Congress I'll proudly serve with that same commitment," said Mark Critz. "As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, veterans, members of the military and their families will always be a top priority of mine."
VMFP's endorsement was due to Critz's commitment to veterans, the military and their families. Critz supports making funding the Veterans Administration a priority, improving the treatment of veterans with traumatic brain injuries and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. In addition, Critz said he will support guaranteeing full health care coverage for National Guard and Reserve personnel.
"I will continue to fight for policies that protect the our military personnel and their families, both while they're serving overseas and once they return home, because that is the most sincere way we can honor their service to our country."
Prior to being elected to Congress, Critz was recognized for his excellent service to our nation's military when he was awarded the Patrick Henry Award by the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS). The Patrick Henry Award is designed to provide recognition to local officials and civic leaders, who in a position of great responsibility distinguished themselves with outstanding and exceptional service to the Armed Forces of the United States, the National Guard or NGAUS. It is the highest civilian award issued by the National Guard.
