Herseth Sandlin Statement on the Senate Passage of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act

Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin released the following statement in response to the Senate passing the conference report on the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

"This bill is critical because South Dakotans didn't cause the near-collapse of the economy but we sure paid a price for it. I am pleased the bill has passed the last hurdle and will now go to the President for his signature, because it is imperative we do more to protect thousands of South Dakota families and small businesses."

Herseth Sandlin voted in favor of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act when it passed the House of Representatives on June 30.
