Issue Position: Veterans & Military Families

Issue Position

Our veterans have made enormous sacrifices to protect our country and our freedom. We need to give these brave men and women the unwavering support they've earned, not just when they're fighting abroad, but when they've returned home.

Keeping our Promises to Veterans

Our veterans have made enormous sacrifices to protect our country and our freedom. We need to give these brave men and women the unwavering support they've earned, not just when they're fighting abroad, but when they've returned home.

That's why the first piece of legislation I introduced in Congress was an amendment providing $53 million for trauma care and prosthetics research for servicemembers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. It's why I voted for the new GI bill providing full college tuition benefits to all veterans, and why I supported the largest increase in veterans healthcare funding in history. In the Senate, I'll keep fighting for expanded education opportunities and better, more affordable healthcare for our veterans.
