Issues: Animals and Wildlife Environment
On behalf of President Obama and the American people, I congratulate the people of Kiribati on the 31st anniversary of your independence this July 12. The United States and Kiribati share a long history of cooperation on issues ranging from promoting security to combating climate change to protecting fisheries and the environment. On this occasion, we celebrate the rich and unique culture of the Kiribati people, and look forward to future collaboration on issues of importance throughout the Pacific region. I wish you all a happy holiday.
