U.S. Representative Mike Ross, D-Prescott, today issued the following statement in response legislation that passed the US House of Representatives that ensures seniors and TRICARE families can keep their doctors.
Statement by U.S. Representative Mike Ross, D-Prescott:
"I am pleased to announce that today I helped pass critical legislation that will allow seniors and TRICARE families to continue receiving the medical care they need and deserve.
"On June 1, 2010, a 21 percent cut in Medicare payments to physicians was triggered by a law passed in 1997, which began to jeopardize senior's access to physician care. This legislation retroactively reverses this cut in Medicare payments to doctors and provides a 2.2 percent increase in payments through November 30, 2010. I voted for this important legislation because I believe we can not afford to jeopardize the access of health care for our seniors or veterans."
